Predictions
There are certain things in live that can be predicted in beforehand.
Wife is acting oddly bossy and rearranging things and cleaning, you know to hit the deck. It's that time of the month.
An old war wound, or broken bone can be used to predict weather change.
I've got sort of allergic lips, and I use Vaseline to moisturize them. On normal days I don't necessarily need it at all. But when the balance is dropping and dehydration is coming upon them, I can be sure, that the temperature is dropping outside.
I'm dehydrating.

Matter of life and Death
My week is not going so great.
The downside of customer service job is that you have to withstand everyone and every kind of customer.
Customers are not to be treated badly.
They are paying my salary.
Customer is always right.
This one guy is bothering me, dropping by twice a week, and hitting on me.
Will someone please help me get him off my back?!?!?!?!?!

Addiction
There are many kind of addictions.
I've often told my friends as one of the reasons I don't drink is that if I did do alcohol, I'd be a total drunk.
Well.....
Last week I bought a brand new iPod touch.
Today, I installed games and played them....
FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS.
Oh, God help me......
And those who don't know...
I have two blogs...

To Sweden on November
Planning on going to spend a day during wintertime abroad without any place to stay is insane idea. Well, as crazy as I might be, I did it, and spend a day in Stockholm, shopping.
Problem was, that the ship arrived in the harbor at 6am and the shops open up at 10am, so we had some time to kill. Eating breakfast in the harbor cafeteria doing math.
After spending two hours thus occupied, we decided to go sightseeing. There is a nice pretty house just near the harbor.
That is, a small box/corner without a phone.
Still hour or so to spend before opening hours.
We drew a lot from our heading and took a tunnelbana toward northwest. After traveling a while I got too hot and motion sick and we had to stop. That's the way we found this odd looking bush and church. Also some nice shops that opened up.

Next we had to witness the Swedish idea of a public phone.

So the clock stroke 10 and we were off to shopping. Forgot to take pictures, had too fun shopping.
Had to go through all of Åhlens.
Then some hat shopping....
All in mens department....
We also found this gadget shop with masks...
Then to Gudrun Sjöden. Not really my type of clothing, but then again... size S jacket...
Finally back at the ship and going home with a lot of shoppings along.
Crazy day indeed.
Fun with Photoshop
It all started with wanting to do something with vectors and creating something new. So the first one, and the last one, since edited it more and more....
Then downloading some sketches and started playing with it.....
The first version...

Then...
then...
then...
until I had many versions of it with different things going on....
Nice way to spend an afternoon, when one has time to spend.
Why
Why is it that we are taught that if we get a favorable answer to what we pray or ask from God we immediately have to do something good in return or change something in ourselves, which in time will return to us after we forget the promise or thing that happened to make that change? Why can't we see and understand that God really loves us as we are, and that he hopes and wishes us to make the change, but that he doesn't force the change in us? That it has to come from within us to want that change?.....
Autumn nights
Autumn nights are getting darker and winter is coming. The Yankees are preparing for Halloween, and the rest of the wannabe countries amongst them. I'm not really interested in celebrating pagan holiday. Still when I saw a friend carving out a pumpkin I felt like trying it out. So in order to NOT proclaim the pagans, decided not to make the traditional scary face for the pumpkin but some stars and a moon. Can be taken as pagan worship, but not meant as one.
Had fun. Maybe I'll use the rest of the pumpkin to cooking.

How many ways can one day go wrong?
- morning wake... what time is it? Is my clock wrong? Am I still in time to get to work...
Yeah, just woke up too early.. - I wanna listen to some music while driving to work, and fill the iPod with music that isn't there yet.
The ones you wanna hear won't go in. - Okay, we'll just go along with what's there
The darn iPod breaks down in the middle of a song.
Totally this time. Shit. - Arrive at work. Where's the boss, and why is she working?
Oh, he's not coming to work today. - Shit, forgot my cellphone at home. Don't know what the time is the whole day.
- I count my base cash for the day.
It's lacking 100€. - Is everything well with the service desk?
No, the people who cleaned it up before didn't do it properly.
- I think my PMS's starting and I don't have anything with me and some other problems with it.
Of course they started. - We have some new "interns" working. Good, they can do all the work.
Darn, they need guidance.
- Great, new lottery tickets came, and we have to activate them.
Shit, someone didn't save that one little paper slips that one needs to activate them
Nice, we'll just have to send them back then. - We are out of all the discount products.
Surprise? Not really.
Did some new come with the days load? - No.
Surprise? Not really.
Is someone complaining?
Of course! - I need to eat, hungry and it's about time.
Shit, coworkers shift ends and I'm the only one capable to fill his spot.
Nice, I'll just eat along it. - A new shift starts. She can look after the counter.
She's never been in it before.
She needs guidance.
She complains for having to had to work overtime.
Boohoo, wha'd'ya think would happen if I started complaining of all the times I've had to work overtime, and skip my coffee breaks because someone's not doing their job.
- Is the cashier working?
Not really. - The "interns" leave.
Good, I get to do some work finally.
Shit, I have to evaluate them.
Okay, I'll make give her good grades.
Shit, now I gave her too good, and she's jumping at joy. - Need to finnish up work.
So depressed.
Oh shoot...
Was on my knees putting something on the shelf. Got up and my right knee didn't work anymore. - Is the girl on the counter as she's supposed to be?
No. Just fuck it, I don't care. - I'm off.
Don't call me if there's an emergency.

Sweden Autumn 2009
Been a while and a lot has happened.
Don't know where to start, but maybe from the trip to Sweden I made with a friend.
She's probably waiting for some pictures out of that trip.... :P
As some of you might know, I have this little fixation of cooking and putting some spices in them.... That is.. my dad doesn't really like my experiments so much, but hey...
Who asks him?
So, one reason for my trips to Sweden is to buy some spices from shop that isn't in Finland, and the nearest is in Stockholm, just across the Baltic sea. So off we went again. This time I didn't have my crutches with me.
On the ship we had this little cabin for two, which was nice, and though we were supposed to go to sleep early, we didn't manage to do that... Again.
Of course we took a trip around the ship, sightseeing shopping a little. On the deck there was pretty much nobody. Maybe because it was so darned dark that nothing could be seen, or that the wind was so strong it was hard to stay on the deck instead of flying off it.

One of the down sides of going to Stockholm for a day is that the ship arrives to port at 6am, and nothing is open before 9/10am. So we had some three hour spare time on our hands and nothing to do. So....
My friend was lucky to find this small restaurant that opened up at 7.30am. So we ate breakfast there. Then we went with the tunnelbana to find a shop, which was a lost cause, since it wasn't there where the google had directed me in the first place. Well, she liked it, to see the places we wouldn't otherwise ever gone to. I was a bit pissed. Finally, with the instructions of a local we found the shop we were looking, but it was still sometime due to their opening hour. So we went to walk in the central of the city and found some tourist shops that were open.
With some additional oddities.

So the shops finally opened and we got to spend some money. Some hours later we directed our way to Gamla Stan and a vegetarian restaurant there to eat. We were full.

After eating we started tacking our way from Gamla Stan toward the northern shore of the little island. By this time the rain that had started dropping in the morning had faded away and changed into sunshine.

From there we could see our destination, which was the Swedish National Museum.

There was this exhibition of the history of furnitures and other things. Some of the things we came across were funny. Like I'd never thought to see the Finnish scissors of Fiskars of Marimekko-fabric in a national museum:

One of my favorite paintings was this, which looked like a smoky lake, with morning dust rising from it, when instead it was something else entirely. I forgot who the painter was. This is just a close up of the whole painting.

(all pictures only for my personal use, no copying, no offense meant to any rights, owners of the paintings or the exhibition)
After the museum we went walking to our final destination and sightseeing in the meantime also. We passed by this Swedish opera house.

And also saw some street art.

Finally after finishing our shopping thirst we headed for the terminal, but since we had some hour or so to kill the time we sat in a small park that was filled with rats running around. Wouldn't have been surprised to find a dead body there that the scavengers might have been eating.

We got to the ship and headed back to home. At port while waiting for our transport we were sorrily surrounded by Japanese tourists and I think we might be in some of their photos....
